Principal Software Engineer (Rust)

Aembit is a well-funded cybersecurity startup founded in late 2021. The company’s founders have a strong track record, having started several companies that were successfully acquired. We are focused on a new area in the hot identity space.

Aembit is hiring talented senior engineers to join our core engineering team. You’ll be a key member developing a high-quality culture in a new team, building a new product, scaling our cloud service, and solving challenging technical problems. Relevant technologies include Identity, Security, Networking, Cloud Infrastructure, Kubernetes, and Big Data Analytics.

Aembit is fully remote. This is an excellent opportunity for you to be impactful and develop a new security product for a large market from the ground up.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of systems software development experience with Rust, C++, C, or Go, primarily in Linux environments.
  • Track record of both directly implementing and leading complex technical projects from conception to delivery.
  • Experience in fast-paced startups, ideally through multiple growth stages.
  • Demonstrated commitment to collaborative development through design discussions and mentoring.
  • Expertise in concurrent systems design, including multithreading, async/await, and thread pools.
  • Passion for building secure, highly available systems with operational excellence.
  • Experience with test-driven development and building robust testing strategies.
  • Interest in mastering Rust; we support experienced engineers transitioning to our codebase.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Skills

  • 2+ years of production Rust development experience.
  • Strong background in network programming.
  • Experience with IaaS providers and tools – AWS, Azure, GCP.
  • Working knowledge of identity protocols (OAuth, SAML, JWT) and PKI.
  • Hands-on experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, AKS, GKE).
